We are currently seeking an accomplished Sales Director to join our esteemed team and spearhead the expansion of our client base. This pivotal role requires a seasoned leader with a proven track record in driving strategic client acquisition initiatives. As Sales Director at Meltwater, you will hold a central role in overseeing a team of Sales Consultants and Account Executives, guiding them towards surpassing acquisition targets.

Your primary focus will be on formulating and executing high-impact client acquisition strategies, providing invaluable coaching and mentorship to your team, and actively contributing to deal analysis, pipeline management, and closing pivotal sales. This role demands a depth of experience and strategic acumen to navigate complex sales ecosystems and drive tangible results.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead a team of Sales Consultants and Account Executives, fostering a culture of excellence and driving a high-performance environment.
  • Assist in analyzing deals, managing the pipeline, and contributing to closing sales as needed, with a focus on SMB and Mid-market segments.
  • Guide the client acquisition process by providing strategic direction, analyzing deals, and contributing to closing sales as needed.
  • Provide personalized coaching, support, and guidance to sales representatives, empowering them to exceed quotas and refine their skill sets.
  • Monitor team performance closely, motivating representatives to surpass quota targets and excel in their respective roles.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts aligned with strategic objectives to track expected performance effectively.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, and seamless onboarding of new hires to bolster team capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to develop and execute sales strategies aligned with overarching business objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance management reviews with sales representatives, delivering constructive feedback and tailored coaching for continuous improvement.
  • Continuously scout for top talent, aligning recruitment efforts with headcount plans to strengthen the Client Acquisition team.
  • Rigorously evaluate proposed deals to ensure alignment with pricing and packaging standards, contributing to overall profitability and sustainability.
  • Be a champion of the company culture and serve as a role model to all team members, embodying the values of Moro, Enere, and Respekt, fostering an environment of continuous growth, innovation, and excellence. 

What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred for this role.
  • 5-8 years of robust business-to-business sales experience, demonstrating a strong background in sales and leadership.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role actively managing others, showcasing the ability to inspire, guide, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proven expertise in driving sales and nurturing relationships within marketing customer profiles, consistently surpassing sales targets in a dynamic SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions, leveraging teamwork to achieve collective success.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adept at articulating complex solutions to diverse audiences with clarity and conviction.
  • Strong passion for business development, coupled with entrepreneurial drive and determination to fuel growth.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a track record of consistently exceeding targets and quotas, demonstrating a high level of personal accountability.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration and relationship-building at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English.
  • Willingness to embrace the best of both worlds with our hybrid work schedule. This role requires you to be in the office 3 days a week.
  • The ability to legally work in the country of hire is required for this position.
